Karthi Is A Menacing Warlord In Kaashmora’s First Look Poster

The first look poster of Karthi’s Kaashmora was officially launched yesterday. The poster features Karthi as a menacing warlord standing in the middle of a battlefield full of fallen soldiers. Interestingly, Karthi sports a tonsured head, heavy beard, and intricate facial tattoos  in the poster – reminiscent of the Kalakeya warlord from Baahubali.

According to an official press release, director Gokul and his team prepared 47 looks for Karthi before freezing in on the final 3. Karthi will appear in the film as Raj Nayak and Kaashmora. Details about his third role are awaited.

Actress Nayanthara will play Queen Rathina Devi while Sri Divya plays an investigative journalist. Actor Vivek has been cast as Karthi’s father in this multi genre project which also has Siddharth Vipin and Madhumitha in major roles.

Kaashmora’s story is spread across three distinct time periods, and is expected to incorporate fantasy elements. In an interview, director Gokul revealed that the film wasn’t entirely about black magic and was not inspired by any other film. “There’s not much I can tell now without revealing the entire story. But what I can tell you though is that the film traverses almost all genres. It is a story like none other. No inspirations here.”

A large portion of its rumoured Rs 60 Crore budget has been spent on high quality special effects. 3D Face scanning technology and VFX have been used for key sequences in the film. A 360 degree omnidirectional camera rig was also used to shoot an important scene.

Produced by SR Prabhu for his Dream Warrior Pictures, Kaashmoraa has cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by VJ Sabu Joseph. Large sets have been erected for the film by art director Rajeevan, while Santhosh Narayanan takes care of the music.

Kashmora is expected to be released on October 28. The film will also have dubbed releases in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.
