Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans are eagerly waiting for his latest gangster action film Kaala, which is slated to release on 7 June in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. And now, news suggests that Rajinikanth, who earlier announced his upcoming film with young director Karthik Subbaraj will commence the shot of the film after Kaala‘s release.
Adding to this, the director is planning to put an ensemble team for the movie. Actor Vijay Sethupathi was one of the first actors to officially come onboard after Sun Pictures announced the project. He is Karthik’s longtime associate since the director’s debut film Pizza. The buzz is that he is playing the villain in the Rajinikanth starrer.
Actor Simran is said to be the main contender for the female lead. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited. Actress Anjali has also been reportedly brought in to play a key role in the film.
The latest reports say, Karthik Subbaraj’s regular collaborator Bobby Simha has also been roped in for the project. Sananth, who was last seen in Karthik’s silent-thriller Mercury, is also onboard.
“He had trust in my abilities and we decided to do our film together as soon as he was free from his two assignments 2.0 and Kaala. I thought he would forget about my film. But now that he has finished with his pending projects, he told me we can start,” said the director.
