A 360 degree omnidirectional camera rig was used to shoot an important sequence in Karthi-starrer Kashmora. According to the makers of the film, this is a first in Indian cinema.
The film is directed by Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame Gokul. The team, in a press release, said that initially they had plans to use computer graphics for that particular shot. Later, they came across 360 degree omnidirectional camera rig, which covers approximately an entire sphere.

Shooting of Kashmora is going on in and around the city. Recently, actor Karthi’s introduction song was shot using a seven camera set-up. Also, it is known that the team is likely to travel abroad to shoot some important sequences.
Kashmora stars Karthi, Nayanthara and Sri Divya in the lead roles while actor Vivek has been roped in to essay the role of Karthi’s dad in the movie. Produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakash of Dream Warrior Pictures, the film has Om Prakash doing the camera and Santhosh Narayanan scoring music.
