Kavya Shetty might have entered the Tamil film industry with Shivani, but she considers Avam her “proper debut film”. The movie is directed by newcomer Vijay Vilvakrish and follows the travails of a young man in love with the wrong woman. Speaking to us, Kavya said, “My character is that of a strong woman of today and it’s a very realistic one. It has a lot of gray shades and I think most people would be able to relate to her.” Apart from this, she’s also a part of the AL Vijay – Vikram Prabhu film which is still untitled. The actress has shot for some of her portions in Kerala and was absolutely blown over by the ‘friendly’ atmosphere she experienced on the sets. “Vikram Prabhu is a complete professional while AL Vijay made sure I was relaxed while filming. The movie is a fun romance with some suspense elements. Only a man like Vijay could have written this,” she declared with absolute certainty.
Avam is currently in post-production and will release by December this year. The audio is expected to be launched sometime in November, and the buzz is that Kamal Haasan would be doing the honours.
