Keerthi Suresh has signed on to star as the female lead in Maane Thaene Paeye. Director Krishna, whose last venture Nedunchalai proved to be a hit with the critics, is at the helm of this one, and has decided to go with Aari as the male lead. Keerthi, who makes her Tamil debut with the yet-untitled Vikram Prabhu-Vijay film, will play the love interest.
A romantic comedy, the movie is said to be completely different from Krishna’s previous films. The director told us that two songs have already been recorded for the film – a romantic number, and a peppy track rendered by Gaana Bala. Filming will begin soon and the makers plan to shoot both in India and the United States. The schedule will be a short one and the film is likely to hit theatres by the end of the year, according to its spokesperson.
MS Prabhu handles the cinematography for this flick while C Sathya scores music. Kalsan Movies, which is bankrolling GV Prakash Kumar’s debut film Pencil, will be producing Maane Thaene Paeye.
