KGF: Chapter 1 Re-Releases in Theatres for One Week

The 2018 Kannada film KGF: Chapter 1 starring Yash is now seeing a re-release in theatres for a week, producer Farhan Akhtar confirmed.

Announcing on Twitter, Akhtar told that the film will be available to see in theatres from October 23 to 29. Theatres including, PVR Cinemas, INOX movies, and Cinepolis, will be screening the film during the festive week.

As theatres reopened after a long halt of more than six months, KGF is not the only Kannada movie to see a re-release. Actor Krishna’s directorial debut Love Mocktail, which garnered immense views on OTT, was among the first lot of films to have a theatrical release after cinema halls across Karnataka reopened from October 15.

Late actor Chiranjeevi Sarja’s last film Shivarjuna, directed by Shiva Tejas and bankrolled by Shivarjuna, was also re-released on October 16 to pay tributes to the actor. Also, Shivaji Surathkal starring Ramesh Aravind and directed by Akash Srivatsa returned to theatres on October 15.

Meanwhile, romantic thriller Dia starring Pruthvi Ambar and Kushi, directed by KS Ashoka and produced by Krishna Chaitanya will be released on the occasion of Dussera. Also, on October 23, Gentleman starring Prajwal Devaraj and directed by Jadesh Kumar was re-released.

Currently, films running in theatres include Kotigobba 2, Raajakumara, Savarna Deergha Sandhi, Kaanadante Maayavadanu, 5 Adi 7 Angula, Damayanti, Tagaru, Kurukshetra, and 3rd Class.

The KGF franchise garnered much hype on social media after Yash announced that he has joined the sets of KGF: Chapter 2. It is reported that actor Sanjay Dutt is going to join the film sets soon. The rest of the star cast includes Achyuth Kumar, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Anant Nag, and Vasishta N Simha.

KGF: Chapter 1 was released in five languages and broke the box office. It had managed to collect Rs 100 crores in the first week of the release.
