Karthi’s upcoming film, Komban, is in its final schedule. The actor will be seen in a rural role in the film, after his debut Paruthiveeran. In an interview to Ananda Vikatan, Karthi has revealed that director Muthaiah wrote Komban especially for him. “Madras was not written for me. I pushed myself into the story. But I am thankful as the character Kali went down well with audience.”

In Komban, Karthi plays a righteous man who makes a living by selling goats. Lakshmi Menon stars opposite him. “I’m in awe of Lakshmi Menon’s dedication and maturity. I don’t think anybody else could have added value to the role.” Karthi was also glad about receiving appreciation from actor Rajkiran. “He has been in the industry for so long and he understands all aspects of filmmaking. I was very happy with his observation that rural roles suit me.”
While talking about Jyothika’s return, Karthi revealed that the actress is not too keen on resuming acting. “But she was impressed with How Old Are You. She found the protagonist inspiring. Although she has come back to acting, she still runs errands and does school projects for her children. So I’m not sure whether she would continue.”
