Leena Yadav To Direct A “Sweet, Funny” Film Next

Leena Yadav will direct a “sweet, funny” film next. Speaking at the promotion of her latest film Parched, Yadav told media persons that she will finish the film by March 2017. “I will be doing a father-son film based in Delhi. It will be very relatable and has a sweet funny story,” she said.

Yadav is currently on the lookout for suitable actors to play the lead roles in this film. Adil Hussain, who had a special cameo in Parched, is said to be the frontrunner to play the father in this project.

The director rose to fame with Parched, which toured the festival circuit before its release this week. Starring Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Surveen Chawla in the lead roles, the movie is produced by Ajay Devgan through his Ajay Devgan Films.

Yadav is very firm about Devgan’s role in the project. The Bollywood star’s role as the producer of the film is not a gimmick, she told the press recently. “Ajay was part of the film right from the birth of the idea. His presence is not a gimmick. We are not trying to use Ajay’s name for our film. The film has a strong content and we want people to watch the film for its story. Ajay is just supporting us,” Leena said.
