Lingaa is currently being filmed at the Linganamakki Dam in Karnataka. A group of local villagers have been protesting near the shooting spot and have allegedly even complained to the police and other authorities that the filming was polluting the dam. A petition has been submitted to the local Deputy Collector to ban the shooting immediately as it affects the ‘fragile eco system around the area’. Meanwhile, the film’s producer Rockline Venkatesh has clarified on the issue and said, “This is not the first time that a film is being shot in this dam, but this is the first time that this sort of trouble has happened. We have repeatedly promised the villagers and the protesting groups that the environment will in no waybe harmed by us, but they haven’t listened. As it is, we are shooting here after acquiring the necessary permissions from the Government. The suddenness of it all is a little suspicious.”
Lingaa has Rajinikanth in the lead while Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty play the love interests. KS Ravikumar has directed the film while AR Rahman has composed the music.
