The plagiarism case against Lingaa has been dismissed by the Madurai High Court. The case was postponed at the end of November, when the judge heard appeals from both sides. With this out of the way, the film’s release on December 12 is confirmed. Starring Rajinikanth and directed by KS Ravikumar, the film has been hit with legal issues for some time now. While its legal troubles don’t rival that of Kaththi, they certainly do have some similarities.
The spokesperson for the film added that the team does not foresee any difficulty in Lingaa releasing as promised on Rajinikanth’s birthday. “Promotions are already underway and all roadblocks have been removed. There’s no stopping it.”
