It might have been over six months since Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa hit the screens, but the row over compensation for losses incurred by the distributors is far from resolved.

A recent press release says that the distributors have now decided to request Rajinikanth to provide them with call-sheet for a film. 50 percent of the revenue that they make with this film would be used to compensate losses incurred due to Lingaa, and the rest of the revenue will be shared by the producers of the film and the Producers’ Council equally. Singaravelan also added that they shall not protest in any way against Rajinikanth and would try to resolve the issue in an amicable way.

A press meet is scheduled to happen today at 3 pm to discuss the issue. Many prominent producers from the Tamil film industry are expected to attend the event.

A few weeks after Lingaa released, four distributors of the movie – from Trichy, Thanjavur and South Arcot, headed by Singaravelan, stated that the movie caused a loss of Rs 45 crores to the distributors in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
