The producers of Rajinikant’s Lingaa have trimmed nine minutes from the movie in reaction to reports that it was too long. Lingaa had a run time of 174 minutes. The cuts include 6 minutes from the pre-interval block.
Meanwhile, despite mixed reviews Lingaa continues to do well at the box office. It earned a hundred crores over its opening weekend the world over. The movie stars Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha opposite Rajinkanth, and is directed by KS Ravikumar. It is the first live action movie from Rajinikanth in nearly four years – last year’s animated Kochadaiiyaan did poorly at the box office.
