Madonna Slams Planned Biopic – ‘Only I Can Tell My Story’

Legendary pop star Madonna has slammed a planned biopic on her early years and rise to stardom. The screenplay for the film, written by Elyse Hollander, was bought by Universal Studios after it found itself at the top of 2016’s Black List, which recognises the year’s best unproduced screenplays.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the film’s producers will be Fifty Shades of Grey producer Michael de Luca.

However, Madonna is supremely unhappy with the biopic, which has been titled ‘Blond Ambition’. “Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen,” she said in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.”

Madonna has led a colourful life, and is known for her brash confidence and unique pop-culture aesthetics that she channels into her music. She is widely considered to be the Queen of Pop, with current stars like Lady Gaga attributing their passion for music to her early musical efforts.
