Reportedly, Sunil Narang of Asian Cinemas and Mahesh Babu have been in talks over this deal for a long time. The first multiplex is currently being constructed in Hyderabad’s Gachibowli area. Photographs of the theatre were in circulation on social media, though their authenticity cannot be verified.

Spokespersons for Asian Cinemas and Mahesh Babu refused to comment on the news. However, AMB Cinemas seems to have been registered in 2016 and lists Namrata Shirodkar (Mahesh Babu’s wife), Ghattamaneni Mahesh as directors. Era Architects, a Mumbai-based company, has photographs of the auditorium and lobby of the multiplex on their website.

In their website, design images of the multiplex can be seen. Gulte has photographs of the cinema halls with sport-inspired art decor on the wall. In another photo, the outer facade of the multiplex can be seen. A placard with the words : ‘AMB Cinemas – Unseen Movie Experience Coming Soon’ is mounted on the wall. There’s also a picture of the logo of AMB Cinemas, with the letter M being given pride of place.

The formal launch of the multiplex will happen later this year.

At present, Mahesh is hard at work on his next film with producer Dil Raju. The film follows three friends played by Mahesh Babu, Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh. This marks the actor’s 25th film and has been titled Maharishi. Ashwini Dutt and PVP Cinemas are jointly financing the project along with Dil Raju.
