Mahesh Manjrekar will play a high profile CEO in Velaikkaran. According to a Times of India report:
“He has got the perfect corporate look for the film and looks sophisticated. There is also a twist in the film. His relationship with Fahadh will be revealed only in the second half of the film and that changes the course of the story . He has already finished shooting his part.”
The actor has starred in a number of Telugu films in the past. He was also seen as a corrupt politician in Vishnuvardhan’s Aarambam (2013) starring Ajith Kumar, Nayanthara, and Arya.

Velaikkaran stars Nayanthara, Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Prakash Raj, and Sneha, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Cinematography is by Ramji. The movie has been bankrolled by RD Raja, and is said to deal with food adulteration.
The film’s first look was released earlier last month and stirred a controversy as it had an uncanny resemblance to the poster for Michael Douglas’ Falling Down.
