The makers of Shabaash Mithu, Viacom18 Studios have been preparing for an extensive schedule in London which they plan to work on post-lockdown after overseas travel is permitted. The team has also been screening cast members through video calls, refining the script, and working on the music of the film during this lockdown period.

“We have to figure out when it will be possible to shoot in the UK. At the moment, we are zeroing in on the venues while mapping the dates to suit all parties involved. Location hunting has been quite a challenge as recce is out of the question and we have to rely on pictures to determine if a venue is suitable for shooting. As a producer, I am jittery taking a call on something that we haven’t seen,” said Ajit Andhare to mid-day who added, “Pre-production has changed form, but work on the film has continued through these months.”

Helmed by Raees fame Rahul Dholakia, Shabaash Mithu will showcase Mithali’s successful journey. The story has been penned by Priya Aven. The film is slated for release on 5 February 2021.

The first look poster of the film was revealed a few months back and saw an intense Taapsee in the Indian cricket jersey.

Taapsee’s Looop Lapeta co-starring Tahir Raj Bhasin will reportedly be one of the first Bollywood films to insure against COVID19. Ellipsis Entertainment, the production banner under which Tanujj Garg and Atul Kasbekar are bankrolling the film has sought a legal expert for insurance to cover all of the banner’s upcoming films hereafter.

The COVID19 insurance would reportedly resemble an accident insurance and entail similar conditions. With COVID19 being a relatively new threat, the insurance draft that is being penned is reportedly being looked into cautiously by Tanujj and Atul.

“Insuring a film so far entailed guarding the film against unforeseen incidents like illness of an actor or occurrence of natural calamities leading to delays in the film schedule. Because COVID-19 is relatively new, we are still working upon the details but essentially works in a similar fashion. For instance, a crew member tests positive, the entire movie crew might have to be possibly quarantined. In that case, the producers will be covered for the money they are spending on days lost,” said Atul to Bollywood Life.

Looop Lapeta is helmed by Aakash Bhatia who had earlier directed the second season of the Amazon Prime Original, Inside Edge. The original, Run Lola Run (1998), helmed by Tom Tykwer featured Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtreu in the lead roles. The movie is about a girl named Lola who only has 20 minutes to secure 100,000 Deutsche Marks to save her boyfriend, Manni.

Vivek Krishnani’s Sony Pictures Films India and Aayush Maheshwari are also bankrolling Looop Lapeta along with Tanujj and Atul’s Ellipsis Entertainment. The movie was to begin filming in April and had places like Mumbai and Goa on schedule. But the nationwide lockdown caused them to scrub all plans. Looop Lapeta is slated for release on 29 January 2021.
