Malayalam Director Jeethu Joseph’s Hindi Debut To Be A Hollywood Remake

Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, who directed hits like Drishyam and Memories, is making his Bollywood debut with Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor in the lead. The director shared the news on his Facebook page and has also posted two working stills from the sets.

The Times Of India reported that the movie is going to be a remake of a Hollywood film.

Jeethu Joseph started off his career with the suspense-thriller Detective with Suresh Gopi in the lead and went on to make many movies in different genres. His big break was Drishyam with Mohanlal in the lead which won critical and commercial success. The film got remade into several Indian languages, including one in Hindi.

He made his Kollywood debut with Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Drishyam which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role. His last film Aadhi was with Mohanlal’s son Pranav Mohanlal, who was making his debut as a leading actor. The film became a blockbuster.

“Ever since the success of Drishyam, I have been getting numerous offers from Bollywood. At one point, I met actress Deepika Padukone and came close to striking a deal with her. That project didn’t work out due to many reasons. In fact, my next project might be a small, humorous Hindi film, an official remake of a foreign film,” he had said in an interview with Silverscreen.
