Soon after Dileep’s arrest by the Kerala police on Monday, several Malayalam filmmakers and producers had publicly disowned him on television. Director Vinayan too, called Dileep a “master manipulator” and said that actors Mammooty and Mohanlal were “puppets” in his hands. Vinayakan was speaking to The Times of India.
According to the report, Vinayan said, “Personally, I know that he is a master manipulator… It was only Dileep who was controlling the Malayalam industry’s progress.”

Vinayan was sidelined in Mollywood when he walked out of Thulasidas’s Malayalam film, Kuttananadan Express, for which he had been paid in advance. Vinayan said, “When I raised [my] voice against him during this issue, he challenged me publicly that I cannot continue to make films in this industry.”
Reportedly, Dileep has had many such confrontations in the Malayalam film industry.
AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes), which had recently expelled Dileep, is now considering revoking the primary membership of his wife Kavya Madhavan as well.
Earlier, at the 23rd general body meeting of AMMA, the members had come out in strong support of Dileep.
