Mammootty Will Speak Kasargod Malayalam In Ranjith’s Movie On Blackmoney

Actor Mammootty, whose expertise in mastering various accents of Malayalam is well-known, will speak in a Kasargod dialect in his next film, to be directed by Ranjith. The movie, titled Puthan Panam – The New Indian Rupee, went on floors in Kochi on Wednesday. The first clap was done by Antony Perumbavoor.

In the film, Mammootty plays Nityanand Shenoy, a native of Kumbala in Kasargod. His brand-new get up for the film – a twirled moustache, glossy shirt, and a red stud on an ear – has already created waves among film-goers.

The film handles the theme of black money and the current financial situation in India. Earlier, Ranjith had done a film, Indian Rupee, starring Prithviraj and Tini Tom, on the issue of counterfeit currency, and Loham (2014), starring Mohanlal, on the issue of gold smuggling in Kerala.

Kochi, Goa, and Pollachi are the locations of Puthan Panam. Iniya is playing the female lead in the film which features Renji Panicker, Saikumar, Siddique, Harish Perumanna, Mamukkoya, and Joju Georgein in supporting roles.
