The biopic on actress Mamta Kulkarni has been shelved. A Deccan Chronicle report cites the lack of funding as the reason behind the film being dropped.
“There are too many biopics coming up these days, and unfortunately, no producer was interested in backing this project. And so it has been shelved for now.”

Jayesh Seth, who had signed on as the director of the biopic, confirmed the news, “Yes, I was supposed to direct the movie, but right now I’m making another film and that movie has been postponed.”
Mamta Kulkarni disappeared from the film industry at the height of fame in the late 90’s. Recently, she was named as the co-accused in a ephinedrine scam. While the actress continues to maintain her innocence, reports abound of her involvement in the narcotics trade.
