The police have registered a case against the organizers of the function for mismanagement of crowd.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m on Saturday when the actor had come to inaugurate a mall in the city. According to The New Indian Express, the crowd that had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor created a stampede. The crowd also caused a huge traffic jam in that part of the city.

He happened to faint and collapse during the event and was rushed to the hospital.”
“We have registered a case under IPC section 283 (danger or obstruction in public way or navigation) against the owner of the mall. This is because the whole of MC Road was blocked for close to two hours because of the event and the crowds,” the officer added.
Former DGP of Kerala Jacob Punnoose posted a snapshot of the event on Facebook and said that it got extremely difficult for the police to manage the crowd. He said that it was important that the organizers of such events consult with the police before holding them.
