The recently released Manjapai will be remade in Telugu by noted director and producer Dasari Narayana Rao, who has purchased the Telugu remake rights of the movie from director N Lingusamy’s Thirrupathy Brothers. In addition to directing the movie, Rao will also reprise actor Rajkiran’s role in Manjapai, while Vishnu Manchu, son of actor Mohan Babu, will play the grandson.
Pre-production work is currently underway for the as yet untitled movie. A spokesperson for Dasari Narayana Rao told us that the title and cast details will be formally announced once they are finalised.
Manjapai is still running successfully at the box office and sources tell us that the movie has managed to rake in over 10 crore rupees over the past few weeks.
