Opening with the question “who are we actually?”, the trailer hints at a mystery thriller. The film has been billed as an adventure drama and has been directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, the filmmaker behind projects such as Chola. Besides direction, Sasidharan has written the script, edited and designed sound as well. Warrier turns producer with this film, which is co-produced by Shaji Mathew and Aruna Mathew.
The film has been selected for the prestigious 25th Busan International Film Festival under the ‘a window into Asian cinema’ category. The film festival will be held in South Korea between October 7 and 16.
The trailer takes the audience through a Himalayalam landscape and a group of trekkers who are trudging along the Himalayan slopes. It introduces the trekkers without revealing Warrier’s identity till the very end. Warrier plays the role of a 40-year-old woman Maya.
Other actors include Ved Vibes, who played a notable role in Joseph, newcomer Gaurav Raveendran along with Sujith Koyikkal, and Bhupendra Khurana.
Due to Covid-19, some of Warrier’s films have been postponed such as Mohanlal-starrer Marakkar- Arabikadalinte Simham, Jack and Jill, that marks the directorial comeback of Santosh Sivan after nearly seven years and The Priest, a Malayalam mystery film written and directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko marking the first collaboration of Mammootty and Warrier.
Warrier recently shared on Twitter the first look of the upcoming film Vellarikka Pattanam directed by Mahesh Vettiyaar, co starring Soubin Shahir.
