Actress Meenakshi Sarkar has signed on to act in an important role in director Vetrimaran’s Soodhadi.
Meenakshi, speaking to a daily, said her role would be “glamorous, with scope for performance” and that she would be seen in sarees throughout the movie. She was last seen in a special appearance in actor Vijay’s Thuppakki.

Soodhadi, which stars Dhanush and Laksmi Menon in lead roles, is written and directed by Vetrimaran, with music by GV Prakash Kumar. Parthiban and Pasupathy are expected to be part of the cast as well. Velraj will handle the camera.
The movie is a joint production of Dhanush’s Wunderbar films and Vetrimaran’s Grass Root film company. Shooting for the film begins in October, and Soodhadi will be released in May next year.
