It’s the season of horror movies. After Aval, Bhaagamathie and Pari, now the teaser of silent horror-thriller Tamil film Mercury, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is out.
The teaser, released by Dhanush, comes with the tag ‘when life is at war, the most powerful scream is silence.’ The teaser shows several youngsters, including Reddy and Indhuja trapped inside a decrepit building and a villainous and bloodied Prabhu Deva creeping out of a hole in a wall.

A silent film with ‘no language releasing in all languages’, it’s narration will solely rely on sound, body language and expressions and will have no dialogues. The inspiration for the title of the movie is revealed in the teaser as it shows a tombstone which reads, “In memory of 84 people who died in this town due to Mercury poisoning.” The film’s music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Karthik Subbaraj has previously worked in the horror-thriller genre, including Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Pizza. In an earlier report, it was confirmed that Karthik Subbaraj has roped in superstar Rajinikanth for his next film.
