Midhun Manuel Thomas’ ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ To Be Remade In Hindi

On Monday, Reliance Entertainment, Ashiq Usman Productions, and AP International announced that they would be joining hands for the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam crime thriller Anjaam Pathiraa that hit screens at the beginning of the year. Helmed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the original was bankrolled by Ashiq Usman under his Ashiq Usman Productions banner.

The three production houses are known for their variety of films in the Indian film industry as well as across the country. While Reliance is known for its Indian productions, they have also produced Hollywood films like The Hundred Foot Journey, A Dog’s Purpose, and the recent hit 1917.

AP International has financed and distributed several Tamil and Malayalam films since 1958 and continues to do so. Ashiq Usman Productions has produced more than ten films like Kali and Chandrettan Evideya since its inception in 2013. In a first, the production house has also shot a feature film titled Love during the COVID19 pandemic and is currently working on its release.

Anjaam Pathira deals with a brutal faceless serial killer who is tracked down by a bunch of police detectives and a consultant criminologist. The film was a huge success at the box office and was widely appreciated by critics and audiences alike. It is reportedly the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year.

The film starred Kunchacko Boban, Sharaf U Dheen, Unnimaya Prasad, Jinu Joseph, and Sreenath Bhasi and had cinematography by Shyju Khalid, editing by Saiju Sreedharan, music by Sushin Shyam, and art by Gokuldas.
