Minjur Gopi Withdraws Appeal

Recommended

Minjur Gopi, an assistant director who accused AR Murugadoss of plagiarism, withdrew his case against the Kaththi director yesterday, putting an end to the three-month long legal battle. At the hearing of his appeal against the court’s decision to quash his lawsuit, Gopi appeared with his lawyer and formally withdrew his case. He was also fined Rs 1,000 for repeatedly indulging in ‘frivolous’ litigation. This latest move has surprised many in the industry, as only last week Gopi had vowed to continue fighting legally till he was formally acknowledged as the creator of Kaththi’s story-line.

Mr Gopi was not available for comment.
