Mohanlal and Prithviraj, two big names in Malayalam cinema, are coming together for an upcoming movie titled Lucifer, written by Murali Gopy. While Mohanlal will be in the lead, Prithviraj will be directing the film. It’s not clear whether he will be starring in it or not.
Now the team behind Lucifer has confirmed that the script for the movie is complete and shooting will soon start. A video was shared on Facebook yesterday with Prithviraj visiting Mohanlal on the sets of his upcoming movie Odiyan.
In 2016, an official announcement was made by Prithviraj that he’s wearing the director’s hat for the first time with Lucifer, produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas.
Mid last year, discussions were held with Mohanlal and later it was confirmed that he will be a part of the film.
But the fans of both the actors couldn’t contain themselves and there are already fan-made teasers and posters floating on social media. Mohanlal is seen as a Hell’s Angel suggesting that he could play the anti-hero.
But neither the actors nor the scriptwriter has given any hints on the character of Mohanlal, or the story. Murali Gopy has written the script for a Mohanlal film for the first time. He was the scriptwriter for some hits like Prithviraj-starrer Tiyan and Left Right Left.
Prithviraj had earlier said that the shoot for the movie might start from May this year. Currently, Mohanlal is busy with Odiyan, while Prithviraj announced his production company with his wife Supriya. They announced their maiden venture Nine under the banner of Prithviraj Productions.
He also awaits the release of My Story and Ranam, while working with Anjali Menon for her next directorial and also with Blessy for an adaptation of the award-winning novel Aadujeevitham.
Murali Gopy wrote the screenplay for Dileep’s film Kammarasambhavam also plays a pivotal role as Kelu Nambiar in the film.
