Mosagallu: Vishnu Manchu and Kajal Aggarwal Starrer Starts Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

Mosagallu, the Telugu film starring Vishnu Manchu, Kajal Aggarwal and Suniel Shetty, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Manchu announced on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Mosagallu, which loosely translates to deceivers or fraudsters, is a techno-thriller directed by Jeffrey Gee Chin, an American filmmaker known for the short film Lil Tokyo Reporter (2012).

Produced by Manchu under the banners AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, Mosagallu was released in the theatres on March 19, this year, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada titled Anu and Arjun and in Malayalam as Arjun and Anu.

The film’s shooting began in June 2019, and it was initially scheduled to release on June 5, 2020. However, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the film’s release was postponed to 2021.

The film’s plotline on Amazon Prime Video reads: “Based on a series of true incidents that shook the Indian IT industry and conned a whopping $380 million dollars (Rs 2,800 crores). This project is about the cultural clash between generations; between east and west; between rich and poor. On a moral downward spiral, yet an upward climb to great financial success, Anu (Kajal) and Arjun (Manchu) become savvy criminals and devise an ingenious scam.”

Shetty portrays the character of Arun, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and the film also features Ruhi SinghNavdeep and Naveen Chandra in pivotal roles. According to a report on Hans India, the film was made at an estimated budget of around Rs 51 crores.

Manchu, who last produced Chadarangam, the Telugu political-thriller web series streaming on Zee5, will be donning the producer’s hat yet again for Son of India, the upcoming Telugu film starring Mohan Babu, Srikanth, and Tanikella Bharani, among others. The film’s teaser was released by actor Suriya on his social media handle on June 4.
