Mowgli Trailer: This Jungle Book Tale Is Dark And Invigorating

Hollywood production giants Warner Bros. has released their first trailer for Mowgli. Directed by actor-director Andy Serkis, Mowgli is an adaption of the classic fable ‘Jungle Book’ written by Rudyard Kipling.

Its motion capture technique used to capture the wild characters of the story is something to look out for. The film features Rohan Chand as Mowgli, while Benedict Cumberbatch voices his arch-nemesis, Sher Khan. In the trailer, he is heard telling Mowgli, “My, my how you’ve grown.”

Christian Bale voices Bagheera, Mowgli’s friend.

It starts with Mowgli in a cage, trying to break free with advice from Bagheera. Director Andy Serkis is portraying the character of Baloo, adding to the list of CGI characters he played throughout his career, including the famous Gollum from The Lord of the Rings franchise and Caesar from the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy.

The film also stars Matthew Rhys, Freida Pinto, Cate Blanchett and Naomie Harris. Warner Bros will release the film on October 19 this year.

This interpretation of the ‘Jungle Book’ is dark and mysterious, a clear departure from Jon Favreau’s 2016 Disney film.
