MVS Haranatha Rao, Noted Telugu Actor & Script Writer, Dies Of Cardiac Arrest

Acclaimed playwright, script writer and actor MVS Haranatha Rao passed away on Monday after a massive cardiac arrest. He was 70.

He began his profession as a story and dialogue writer for award winning films like Swayamkrushi, Pratighatana, and Sutradharulu. He had also acted in around 20 films, including Rakshasudu and Swayamkrushi. He has penned dialogues for more than 150 films, some of them even won Nandi Awards such as Pratighatana, Bharata Nari, Anna, and Ammayi Kapuram

Hailing from Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, Rao was also famous for his plays that won him critical acclaim, his most famous being Raktabali, Jagannatha Ratha Chakralu, Kshirasagara Mathanam, and others.

The Hindu reports that the Indian People’s Theatre Association state honorary president Nalluri Venkateswarlu, NTR Kala Parishad founder Edara Haribabu and noted playwright Patibandla Ananda Rao were among those who paid their last respects.
