“Role Was Chopped Because I Refused To Give In To The Demand of A Big Star”: Archana

Archana Veda, who made a mark in Telugu films with her performances in movies like Nuvvostaante Nenoddantana and Nenu, revealed that she was a victim of the casting couch. Archana hasn’t named the actor who put her through the ordeal, but admitted to them being a “big star” in Tollywood.

The 35-year-old actress spoke to Telugu media about the incident in detail. “I pretended to be dumb and gave it back to the gentleman with my words. I spoke in a twisted and confused way and just evaded the situation. It was funny that a big actor asked me like that. Well, obviously a major part of my role was chopped because I didn’t agree to it,” she said.

Archana Veda was a part of mega-budget projects like Junior NTR’s Yamadonga, Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja, Prabhas’s Pournami, Nagarjuna’s Sri Ramadasu, and Balakrishna’s Lion.

The actress reportedly shifted base to Mumbai in hope of making a mark in Bollywood. She is presently working on a women-centric film where she will  be essaying the role of a Kashmiri woman. The untitled film is slated for a mid 2017 release.
