Speaking at a promotional event for his romantic comedy Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, which released on September 4, actor Nani suggested that a sequel to the recently hinted at a media interaction that a possible sequel to the 2012 fantasy revenge-drama Eega may be scheduled for next year. According to him, director SS Rajamouli plans to make Eega 2, but only after shooting for Baahubali 2 is complete. Eega revolved around the story of a reincarnated housefly who had set out on a quest for revenge. The film was lauded for its innovative concept and visual effects. Dubbed and released in Tamil and Hindi, the film was showcased at several film festivals, including the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2013.
