Padmavati Row: Kanwarani Archana Singh Of Badnore Wants It All To Stop

Kanwarani Archana Singh, who belongs to an erstwhile royal Rajput family and is married to another royal, Kanwar Ranjay Singh of Badnore in Rajasthan, said the protests over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati should stop, adding that she would much rather see the film first before reacting.

“I think Padmavati has been convoluted completely. I know a boy who worked very close with Bhansali in the production of the film and he said that there is not a (single) shot that you can fault with, and he is a Rajput himself. He also said that after seeing the film, the Rajputs would hug him (Bhansali),” Archana Singh told IANS.

Actors Rani Mukherjee and Prosenjit Chatterjee, too, expressed their support towards the film and its makers. “It’s very hurting. Directors will stop doing historical films the way it has been handled. For a performer, any creative person, they should have their own (voice)… Somebody blaming an actor… because they are paid and are ready to perform their best,” Prosenjit said at a media conclave.

Rani, at the same media conclave, said that the society needs to be more loving. “We need to be more loving as society, as humanity… We need to go towards love. We have to disassociate with something which is unloving. I believe in love because I am a new mother.”
