Nayanthara Pens A Letter To Her Fans Thanking Them For Supporting Her In 2017

Aramm Nayanthara is also Assistant Director

Nayanthara, the ‘Lady Superstar’ of Tamil Nadu, has had three releases in 2017 – Dora, Aramm, and Velaikkaran. Aramm, however, was a film that was met with a resounding applause and a surprisingly feminist angle in a commercial Tamil film.

Even though Aramm released months ago, the actress continues to bask in the film’s success. Thanking her fans for being by her side, the actress wrote a letter to them, wishing them a new year.

“For all the love and support you have showed towards me, all I can do is work harder and be responsible to not only give you entertaining movies but also responsible films like Aramm,”she wrote.

Aramm revolves around a water crisis in a remote village. Nayanthara plays Madhivadhani the collector who fights for the people, and against a corrupt government. The film is directed by Gopi Nainar. Though not new to Tamil cinema, he was embroiled in a plagiarism controversy with director AR Murugadoss a few years ago.

When he claimed the story of Kaththi that had Vijay in the lead and directed by Murugadoss, as his own in 2014, very few believed him. Hurt, he spent the next three years working on the story of Aramm.
