While several reports stated that in view of actor Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan‘s arrest and also due to date issues, Nayanthara had backed out of Khan’s project with filmmaker Atlee, Bollywood Hungama has confirmed that she is still part of the film.
“Nayanthara is still very much a part of the film. She has not quit. Nobody knows why the media wrote stories like that and tried to hit an already stressed human being. It was done in a bad taste,” a source from the film unit informed the online portal.
According to reports, now that Aryan Khan has been granted bail, SRK will restart his pending shoots, including the film with Atlee. Last month, the crew was said to be shooting in Pune after pictures of Khan and the crew at a Pune metro station went viral.
It must be noted that none of the actors or the director have officially announced the film or provided any information regarding its status.
Bollywood Hungama‘s source, however, has said that Khan will be seen playing a double role in the film, while Nayanthara will portray a cop. “Nayanthara plays an investigating officer in Atlee’s next. Shah Rukh Khan plays a dual role – of a father and his son. The movie’s premise is about this one man (played by SRK) who leads a group of wrongly-accused female jail mates (Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and others) and turns them into a group of vigilantes fighting against social evils. It’s very similar to Money Heist but much more Indianised. Nayanthara plays the top cop investigating the case and it’s her versus Shah Rukh in the film, but they also play love interests,” the source reportedly said.
This film marks the first collaboration between Khan and Atlee. Nayanthara, who was last seen in the Tamil film Netrikann, has previously worked with the director in Raja Rani (2013).
