The makers of Nerkonda Paarvai have released the lyric video of the second single ‘Kaalam’, an EDM song featuring Kalki Koechlin. The Ajith Kumar and Shraddha Srinath-starrer directed by H Vinoth is slated for release on August 10.
Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja shared the link on Twitter yesterday. Set to EDM music, the song is sung by Alisha Thomas and Yunohoo, and written by Yunohoo. It features Kalki Koechlin in her first on-screen appearance in a Tamil film, and will also star Shraddha Srinath. The song is expected to play at a party scene, the turning point in the film when a series of events disrupt the lives of Shraddha, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tairiang.

The first single from the film, titled ‘Vaanil Irul’, released on June 27. This song is written by Uma Devi and sung by Dhee, and is about the relationship that the three women share on-screen.

Reports speculate that a song similar to ‘Tu Chal’ from the original Hindi film Pink will release soon. It was said that Ajith will sing this track but Yuvan Shankar Raja said in an interview that this was not true.
This is composer Yuvan’s second film with Ajith after Aarrambham. The shooting for the film began in February this year and wrapped up in three months. A trailer released to a lot of appreciation in June.
The film follows the story of a woman who is molested and charged with attempted murder. Ajith reprises Amitabh Bachchan’s role from the original as a lawyer and Shraddha replaces Taapsee in the Tamil remake. Vidya Balan, who plays Ajith’s wife in the film, and Kalki Koechlin, have special appearances. Rangaraj Pandey, Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Aswin Rao and Sujith Shankar play supporting roles.
The film has cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Gokul Chandran. It is produced by Boney Kapoor as a dedication to his late wife, actress Sridevi.
