Netflix Drops Trailer of Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Dhamaka’

The trailer of Dhamakathe upcoming Hindi Netflix film starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead, was released by the streaming giant on Tuesday.

Making his debut on Netflix, Aryan plays the role of a frustrated former news anchor named Arjun Pathak. The film will premiere on November 19.

Directed by Ram MadhvaniDhamaka stars Amruta Subhash, Vikas Kumar and Vishwajeet Pradhan in pivotal roles along with a special appearance by Mrunal Thakur.

This drama thriller film follows the story of Pathak who ends up having a conversation with a mysterious terrorist who blows up a portion of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link using bombs. The terrorist and the anchor converse live on television through which the terrorist raises demands. With the series of ups and downs and events that follow, the anchor must make a choice between his career and humanity, according to a press statement issued by the streaming giant.

The film’s motion poster was shared by Aaryan on his birthday in November 2020. The film’s teaser dropped on March 2.

The film has been written by Puneet Sharma and Madhvani. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Ram Madhvani Films in association with Lotte Cultureworks, Globalgate Entertainment & Lionsgate, Dhamaka will premiere on Netflix across 190 countries this summer.

“Working with a maverick like Ram Madhvani has allowed me to explore and showcase a new facet of my personality,” Aryan said.

Speaking about Thakur’s character, Madhvani said, “I feel blessed that Mrunal agreed to act in our film as a special appearance. She is the films moral centre and she brings an honesty and a believability to her performance that I have had the privilege of being at the receiving end of as a director. Mrunal is a very rare talent.”

According to Madhvani, Subhash is one of those actors whose performances “you remember and note down and say ‘I want to work with this actress’. “I feel generations to come will remark on her acting prowess,” he said.
