Sayyeshaa and Arya will star alongside each other in Shakti Soundar Rajan’s Teddy. The movie, produced by KE Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green, will be a film made keeping children and youngsters in mind, reports ToI.
Teddy will mark Arya and Sayyeshaa’s third collaboration. The duo first worked together on Ghajinikanth that released last year. The movie, a romantic action comedy, was a remake of the 2015 Telugu film Bhale Bhae Magadivoy and had performed decently at the box office.
Arya and Sayyeshaa’s second collaboration comes with KV Anand’s soon to be released film starring Suriya and Mohanlal, Kaappaan. The movie, an action thriller, is scheduled for release in October. Mohanlal plays the Prime Minister in the movie while Suriya plays his bodyguard. While Sayyeshaa plays the female lead, Arya is rumoured to be playing Mohanlal’s son in the film.
Marking yet another collaboration between Arya and Studio Green, Teddy was announced by the director during his birthday on March 10 coinciding with Arya’s wedding weekend. “We decided to release the film’s title as two occasions fell on March 10 — Arya’s wedding and my birthday,” the director had said.
The director had also said that the full-fledged production will start only in May. “It will be shot in Chennai and exotic places in Europe,” Soundar Rajan added.
The director previously worked on the space adventure Tik Tik Tik and the zombie movie Miruthan. Both movies starred Jayam Ravi in the lead. Teddy is the director’s fifth project. His filmography also includes Naanayam and Naaigal Jaakirathai.
Apart from Kaappaan that he recently finished shooting for, Arya also has Santhana Devan and Magamuni in the pipeline. There are reports that the actor is set to star in the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Mufti. The movie, produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, is rumoured to star Simbu in the lead, with Arya as the antagonist.
Meanwhile, Sayyeshaa will soon make her Kannada debut opposite Puneet Rajkumar in Yuvaratna.
