Pankaj Tripathi, who was seen in many critically acclaimed films last year, including Newton and Gurgaon, will be making his Tamil debut in Rajinikanth’s Kaala.
In his recent chat with The Times of India, the actor opened up about working with Rajinikanth. “My experience of shooting with Rajini sir has been amazing. We have had conversations about acting, about spirituality and the film industry. When he is in front of the camera, he takes on a different persona. I learnt a lot from this experience,” he said.
Pankaj Tripathi began his acting career with the 2004 release Run and he went on to act in several Bollywood movies. He rose to fame with the two-part noir Gangs of Wasseypur directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Kaala, written and directed by Pa Ranjith, deals with the fight between the good and evil. Rajini plays the leader of the oppressed residents of a Mumbai slum. Apart from Tripathi, Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi also act in the movie in major roles.
The film is set to release on April 27.
