Niharika is reportedly playing a woman who joins Narasimha Reddy in his fight against the British. Reports indicate that she does so after her husband is killed the day after their marriage.

A spokesperson for the movie chose not to comment on the story.

If this does materialise, the project will be her second with Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi. They previously shared screenspace for Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren.

Sye Raa boasts an eclectic ensemble of actors and technicians with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia and music composer Amit Trivedi coming together.

The spokesperson for the film did say that no expense has been spared for this movie as it marks Chiranjeevi’s 151st film and also because the Konidela family considers the project to be very close to their hearts.

Writers of the film – The Paruchuri Brothers, have discussed the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy with the Konidelas for over a decade.
