Actress Nikesha Patel is quite excited about the prospect of being a part of Guntur Talkies 2, the sequel to the runaway hit of the same name that catapulted Rashmi Gautam to overnight stardom. Nikesha is playing a village belle in the film and began shooting in Mumbai recently.
Speaking about the film, she shares, “There’s definitely a lot of pressure to live up to the expectations that the first film generated. It’s an entirely new cast and we also have a new director too. Producer Raj Kumar sir has gone all out and spent a lot of time on finalising the cast and crew of the film.”

Nikesha says that her role of a ‘gaauwali’ is no easy task for her considering she doesn’t understand the nuances of the character at all. “I have grown up in the urban atmosphere and even the way she dresses is definitely a tough thing for me but I am living it up,” she reveals, adding that she first thought she’d be offered the ‘hunterwali’ role that was played by Shraddha Das in the original. She was taken aback when the filmmakers felt she could pull off this new role.
What’s more, she’s already counting the days to the film’s release.
