As we had reported earlier, Nithya Menen will play the female lead in Mani Ratnam’s next film. The actress confirmed the news and said, “I’m very excited to work with Mani sir and this film will definitely be a turning point in my career. I have already worked with PC Sreeram sir and Dulquer before, so it’s been a fun few days on the sets so far.” The actress, who was last seen in Malini 22 Palayamkottai directed by Sri Priya, revealed that she has a ‘strong role’ in the new movie. “Mani sir always writes brilliant roles for the women and I’m privileged to be bringing to life one such character onscreen,” is all that she would say.
The film began shoot on the 6th of this month and is rumoured to have the music of AR Rahman. Madras Talkies is financing this film which will be wrapped up by December this year.
