The actor, who was last seen in the Tamil film Pon Manickavel, recently announced on social media that Bloody Mary will premiere soon on Aha. The film marks her OTT debut.

Speaking about the film, Mondeti says, “Bloody Mary is about a girl named Mary (played by Nivetha), her backstory, the situations she faces and how she reacts to every problem. It is not a horror film. Every person has a grey shade within them and they show it, when the situation calls for it. Mary also exhibits this shade of character. There is no specific antagonist in the film.”

Bloody Mary is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad of the People Media Factory banner. Apart from Nivetha, the cast also includes actors Ajay and Brahmaji.

The story has been penned by Mondeti’s associate, Prasanth Kumar Dimmala. Calling Bloody Mary, a “quickie,” Mondeti tells us that the film was shot by cinematographer Karthik Gattamneni within a span of about a month in early 2021, after the second wave of Covid-19. Locations included Hyderabad, Vizag, Mumbai, and Pune.

Edited by Viplav Nyshadam, Bloody Mary has a runtime of 105 minutes, the director adds. The premiere date of the film has not been announced yet.

Meanwhile, Mondeti is also working on the sequel to his directorial debut, Karthikeya. Titled Karthikeya 2, it will again feature actors Nikhil Siddharth and Swati Reddy, who appeared in the first instalment. The sequel will additionally star actors Anupama Parameswaran and Anupam Kher.

“The first film was about god and science and this one will be about Lord Krishna. However, this will not be a mythological film. It will be about how events that have unfolded in the past are related to the current scenario,” says Mondeti.

“We still have five days of shooting left, four days in Greece and one in Rann of Kutch. There is also a lot of VFX work to be incorporated, and it will take about three months for the film to be completed,” he adds.
