It was announced right after the release of Premam, that Nivin Pauly will play the lead in actor Althaf’s directorial debut. Actress Ahaana Krishna, daughter of actor Krishnakumar, would play the female lead in the film. “I was waiting for a good second project when this offer came up. My graduation course got over in April and so the timing was just right,” said Ahaana, whose debut was Rajeev Ravi’s 2014 film Njan Steve Lopez.
“Talks had been going on for this movie for months. There was a casting call as well. But things got pushed owing to Nivin’s date clashes and other issues, and fortunately for me, everything fell into place. I don’t know Nivin Pauly well, but recently met him for a workshop for the movie. Feels great to get such a good project after Njan Steve Lopez,” she added.
Althaf played the role of an over-protective friend of a character played by Anupama Parameswaran, one of the female leads of Premam. Actor Lal will be playing the role of Nivin’s dad in the film. The shooting of the film will commence at Kochi and Thrissur by the end of this month.
Nivin Pauly is currently shooting for his untitled Tamil project, directed by Gautham Ramachandran.
