Nivin Pauly’s Tamil Film Could Be Titled Avargal

Nivin Pauly’s Tamil film, a crime drama about a murder and the narratives of the different people who witnessed it, may be titled ‘Avargal’. Directed by Gautham Ramachandran, the film is an adaptation of the Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandante (2014). The title of the film was earlier rumoured to be ‘Santa Maria’, which is likely to be the name of the Malayalam version of the film. Meanwhile, Gautham Ramachandran told Silverscreen that Avargal is just one of the titles under consideration.

The project was filmed in Kuttraalam, Manapad, and Thoothukudi. It is currently in the final stages of production, with shooting nearly complete and only a few scenes remaining to be canned. The team is currently shooting in Kolkata. The film is on track to release early next year.
