Jeethu Joseph’s Papanasam, starring Kamal Haasan, has been awarded a ‘U’ certificate by the Censor board today. It must be noted that no ‘cuts’ were suggested for the film, either. Papanasam is a remake of 2013 blockbuster Malayalam film, Drishyam.

The film’s video song, released yesterday, has been appreciated for its earthy, rural charm. The publicist of the film also confirms that, the film will release on July 3.
Papanasam is directed by Jeethu Joseph, who also helmed the original, Drishyam. Music director Ghibran has composed music for the film starring Kamal Haasan, Gauthami, Niveda Thomas and Baby Esther in the lead roles alongside Kalabhavan Mani, Asha Sharath, Anant Mahadevan, Charlie and Delhi Ganesh.
