The Papanasam team is planning to release the movie on July 17, confirmed the movie’s PRO. He further added that the movie is waiting to get censored, and the official release date will be announced in the coming weeks. The post-production work for the movie is currently underway. According to reports, the shooting of Papanasam was wrapped up in just 39 days.

Also, several sources claim that the team is planning to launch the audio sometime in the second or third week of June. However, an official confirmation about the launch date is yet to arrive. An IANS report says that the team picked July 17 as it happens to be the Ramzan holiday weekend.
Papanasam is directed by Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the original, Drishyam. Music director Ghibran has composed music for the film starring Kamal Haasan, Gauthami, Nivedha Thomas and Baby Esther in the lead roles alongside Kalabhavan Mani, Asha Sharat, Anant Mahadevan, Charle and Delhi Ganesh.
