Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie is set to release around Diwali, 2017. It is scheduled to go on floors early next year.
While Golmaal 2 and Golmaal 3 had Kareena Kapoor Khan playing the leading lady, Shetty revealed earlier this year that he would not cast the actress in the latest version as she is pregnant. “It would have been easy to call her and tell her to do the film. She would have said, ‘Let’s do it’. But I can’t do that. I can’t talk to her (as she is pregnant) to do it (Golmaal 4). It’s odd. But let’s see, we will do a song or something with her,” Shetty had said.
It has been a while since Parineeti Chopra made an on screen appearance. Her last film as the leading lady was two years ago in Shaad Ali’s Kill Dill. She recently completed the shooting of Meri Pyari Bindu opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, she was scheduled to begin filming Homi Adjania’s Takadum opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. As the script is being re-worked, the film’s schedule got postponed to next year, allowing her to sign Golmaal 4 in its place.
The Golmaal series has actors Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade in the main roles.
