Actor-director Parthiban will be teaming up with director Ezhil for his next film, reportedly a comedy.
Parthiban told Silverscreen that about four months ago Ezhil narrated the script for two films and he liked both. “Yes, I’ll be working with him. I’m not sure which one we’re going with as yet,” he said.
Official announcements are expected soon. The director reportedly revealed in an interview recently that the story of one of the films revolves around a group of youngsters who are aspiring filmmakers, and Parthiban plays the role of a musician and a rowdy threatening them to sign him up as the music director of their film.
The director currently has two films under production – a Vishnu Vishal and Nivetha Pethuraj-starrer titled Jagajala Killadi, which is complete and likely to release next month, and a fantasy horror film Aayiram Jenmangal, starring GV Prakash and Eesha Rebba, which in the final stages of shooting. He is likely to begin the new film after the two films release.
Ezhil began his career with Thullatha Manamum Thullum and Poovellam Un Vaasam, and shifted his focus to comedy entertainers. In the past few years he has made films like Desingu Raja, Velainu Vandhutta Vellakaran, and Saravanan Irukka Bayamen.
Meanwhile, Parthiban is busy with his film Oththa Serupu Size 7, which was cleared by the CBFC with a U certificate today. He has written, directed and produced the film, and acted in it as the only lead. He issued a statement in which he said that the film is getting credited for its ‘single character’ factor, but all of the crew, including Santhosh Narayanan, sound designer Resul Pookkutty and cinematographer Ramji are to be credited.
Parthiban also has a biopic on the veteran actor Chandrababu, underproduction and unconfirmed reports say he will play the lead. A sequel to his hit film, Ulle Veliye, in also in the pipeline.
